Four (4) International Doctoral Students of the College of Nuclear Science and Technology attended and presented their latest research work with the Vice-Dean of the College, Prof. Puzhen GAO in attendance at the 4th International Conference on Energy Engineering and Environmental Protection, ICEEEP2019 which took place at the Xianglu Grand hotel in Xiamen city of Fujian province, China from the 19 – 21 November, 2019.
This year’s technical meeting aimed to discuss the latest developments and achievements, work out good solutions, and make contributions to safer energy and environmental issues.
The Conference made host to over 100 different researchers from the energy engineering and environmental protection field of which Nuclear Power is a key player in line with the focus and scope of the conference.
Five (5) keynote speakers delivered lectures to mark the opening of the ceremony.
Among other presenters, 4 international student attendees from CNST orally presented their work at the Conference. They were;
1.Solomon Bello, 2nd year.
Paper Title: Iterative Model Coupled with Experimental Procedures to determine Flow Rate in a Closed Rectangular Natural Circulation Circuit.
2.Sherif M. Ibrahim, Final year.
Paper Title: Extraction/Removal of Uranium, U (VI) from Chloride Solutions by an Environmental-friendly Extractant.
3.Anour A T Ayoub, 3rd Year.
Paper Title: Radioactive Measurement in Glacier and Polar Ice-caps: An Overview
4.Ahli K. D Willie, 3rd Year.
Paper Title: High Burn up Effect on Thermal Conductivity of UO2 during Irradiation.
Group photograph was taken and then a one-on-one discussion among attendees and keynote speakers which brought the session to an end.
It was a beautiful experience and another opportunity of learning. The sponsored students expressed their gratitude toCNST and HEU in general for the opportunity.
