­On May 18th to 24th, 12 teachers and more than 30 graduate students of the College of Nuclear Science and Technology(CNST) attended the 27th International Conference on Nuclear Engineering(ICONE 27 ) in Kubo, Tsheng County, Japan.

The International Conference on Nuclear Engineering is the most influential conference in the field of nuclear engineering. With the theme of`Nuclear Power Saves the World’, the meeting was co-sponsored by the Japanese Society of Mechanical Engineers(JSME), American Society of Mechanical Engineers(ASME)and China Nuclear Society(CNS). More than 1,000 representatives from the world attended the meeting. China Nuclear Society actively organized representatives from China Nuclear Power Research and Design Institute, China National Nuclear

Power Engineering Co., Ltd., CSIC 719th Institute of Heavy Industry, CGIC Nuclear Power Research Institute, National Nuclear Power Technology Corporation, Shanghai Nuclear Engineering Research and Design Institute, China National Research Institute, China National Nuclear Control System Engineering Co., Ltd., Tsinghua University, Xi'an Jiaotong University, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Harbin Engineering University and other units and scientific research institutes participated in all technical topics and exchanges of ICONE27. The conference has nine major sections, including opening ceremony, subject report, report, technical topic, conference forum, training and technical visit, exhibition and student poster.

The teachers and students of CNST conducted academic reports at ICONE27 meeting and actively participated in the discussion and exchange of participants. Master's degree student Yu DeHai obtained Best Paper Award, PhD Yang Zhi, and Ding Tao obtained the Best Poster Award, showing the good academic level of teachers and students of CNST. During the meeting, our faculty and students made extensive and in-depth exchanges with top experts and peers from home and abroad on 16 technical topics. Dean Xia Hong also made a report on the topic of 'Education and Human Resources Development' , and introduced the training of professional talents and scientific research.

By participating in this international conference, the international exchange

between Harbin Engineering University (HEU) and international peers has been promoted, and the talent cultivation, scientific research and academic level of HEU have been publicized, excellent talents in the same field have been met, and the opportunities for cooperation between international and domestic research in the future are discussed. At the same time, using the meeting gap to widely contact the doctoral students from home and abroad, and introduced the introduction policy of college talents, which played a positive role in attracting high-level talents to come to school. The conference gap was also used to discuss with the students participating in the meeting to understand the development of the school and set up a platform for the development of the school.
