Research in this direction is committed to providing solutions for the application of nuclear technology in all fields and exploring the basic laws of radiation physics, including the following 3 sub-directions.
1. Nuclear security and non-proliferation technology: carrying out researches on nuclear material measurement and accounting technology based on neutron and gamma detection, to provide technical support for nuclear material safety and nuclear non-proliferation work.
2. Radiation detection and protection technology: developing radiation field measurement and evaluation means for different scenarios and environments, to provide protection for radiation safety work; developing advanced radiation detection technology.
3. Radiation physics and nuclear physics: conducting experimental researches on radioactive nuclear reaction, nuclear fission and radiation-matter interactions, to provide basic research support for applications of advanced nuclear energy and nuclear technology.
